Garden Clearance

Full end-to-end clearance of overgrown or neglected gardens - green waste, accumulated debris, old paving slabs, broken pots, bags of old compost, garden junk. Suitable for landlords clearing between tenancies, homeowners preparing to sell, or anyone reclaiming a garden that's got out of hand. All waste loaded and taken away to a licensed disposal facility on the same day.

Garage & House Clearances

Moving house, downsizing, renovating, or just having a proper clear-out? We handle the heavy lifting, the awkward items, and the full load - out of the garage, out of the house, and gone in a single visit.

For house clearances associated with bereavement or an elderly relative moving into care, we work at your pace and handle everything with care. Items in good condition are offered to local charities or reuse schemes before disposal. We'll always let you know what we can rehome.

Shed & Decking Dismantling

Safe dismantling and complete removal of old sheds (timber and metal, any size), rotting or unwanted decking structures including posts and fixings, old fencing panels and concrete posts. You don't need to do anything beforehand - we dismantle, load, and clear the area. Combine with a garden clearance for a complete outdoor reset.

Why the licence matters - and how it protects you

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, anyone who produces waste has a legal duty to ensure it is handled by an authorised carrier. This duty does not end when the waste leaves your property. If you hire an unlicensed carrier and your waste is fly-tipped, you - the householder - can face a fine of up to £5,000, even if you had no intention of breaking the law.

Peak Grounds holds Upper Tier Waste Carrier registration with the Environment Agency - the higher tier, covering businesses that carry waste as a regular commercial activity. You can verify any waste carrier on the Environment Agency Public Register at gov.uk.

We provide a Waste Transfer Note for larger clearances on request - the legal document confirming your waste was transferred to an authorised carrier, satisfying your duty of care.

Common questions

What can't you take?
We can't carry hazardous waste: asbestos, large quantities of chemicals or solvents, clinical or medical waste, or gas cylinders. These require specialist licensed contractors. If you're unsure whether something is hazardous, just ask when you call - we'll advise honestly and point you in the right direction if needed.
Do I need to sort or bag up the waste beforehand?
No - that's the point of hiring us. Just show us what needs to go and we'll handle everything. The only thing worth doing beforehand is a quick walk-through at the start of the job to point out anything you want to keep, so we don't accidentally remove the wrong things.
Is it cheaper to hire a skip?
Sometimes, sometimes not. A skip on a public road needs a council permit (typically £30-60 extra), you pay for several days of hire regardless of how quickly you fill it, and you're doing all the loading yourself. Our service includes loading, transport, and disposal in one fixed price, completed in a single visit. For most clearance jobs, it works out comparable in cost and considerably less hassle. Are you actually licensed? How do I check?
Yes - Peak Grounds is a registered Upper Tier Waste Carrier with the Environment Agency. You can verify any waste carrier yourself using the free Public Register on the Environment Agency website (search "check if a business is a registered waste carrier" on gov.uk). We'd actively encourage you to check anyone you're considering hiring - if they can't provide a registration number, the risk of fly-tipping liability falls on you.
